Robin, you are quirky, bizarre, and you are love. You made us laugh, but we did not know that you were crying inside. From "Popeye" to "Mrs. Doubtfire,"you have tickled our hearts and soul. We pray a silent humble homage to you, "oh captain, my captain."

Stye Icon: Omari Hardwick (James St. Patrick) "Power"
Today I am looking at 50 Cent's new creation "Power," the new series on Stars, which is very promising. Ok, honestly I saw one episode of "Power" and it was interesting, but previewing other episodes, I know that the series can get a bit raunchy and I want to stay away from that because "you are what you absorb". There are great TV series out there, not including HBO or Stars, but FX (such as the Strain, and Tyrant), but why do great plots have to be raunchy?
Here's the plot. St. Patrick, also known as "Ghost" is a major drug figure trying to get free from the game, but when he tries to leave the drug world by starting anew with the opening of his popular NYC nightclub. James is caught in a undertow when his two lives collide.
Anyway I want to look at Power's James St. Patrick's fashion. His new life becomes a rip tide when his drug persona clashes with his new way of life. James' fashion includes lots of three piece suits, which are very much in style this Fall/Winter '14. But you can catch him in beautiful shirt and blazer combinations. Of course everything looks better on man that looks like a model and is built like Arnold. I have to ask this question, "does the man make the clothes or doe the clothes make the man???" this is my major fashion universe conundrum. James's cool, calm and strong character complements his well structured suits which say I'M GETTING MY STUFF TOGETHER!

I love this shirt-blazer combination: a beautiful blazer but I wouldn't have thought to pair it with a blue shirt |

The Skinny
Ok, we love the skinny jeans, the skinny suits, the skinny-fit shirts, but what happened to the more ripped physic!?! Do women really don't care anymore about the "Arnold" abs...the Vin Diesel biceps? Where did all the "man" go? Why are men borderline anorexic? Okay we tried the skinny thing, lets get back to the sexy. Don't know where to go? Ask your girl what she thinks,... by the way "does this suit make me look fat?"
Hit the gym, okay too expensive? You have everything to get ripped at home. Workouts on-demand, treadmills, the bowflex, dumbbells, jogs. You don't have to go as far as the insanity workout, but come on man!! It's time to let the skinny go/

Style Icon: Columbus Short
First off, I was in awe that ABC's hit series "Scandal" did not get it's much needed appraise, awards wise. It has the seat gripping, jaw grinding suspense, exceptional writing, and wonderful acting we all crave in a hit tv series. No kudos?..."YOU DONE, YOU DONE, MESSED UP NOW'-says Keri Washington. Columbus Short, as seen as Little Walter in the award wining film "Cadillac Records", plays along side Washington as the "Gladiators". They are the"whatever it takes, by any means necessary" cover up team that protects public figures in the Washington, DC area from demolishing their public life and political status. The will do anything, even kill to cover up a scandal. As ruthless as Short is, he knows how to dress like a boss. His staple is a wide knot tie (windsor) with suspenders. I love his spread collar shirt and tie pairings, which are print on print, not too matchy matchy. I could not have picked some of the hook-ups that his stylist pairs with such magnificent taste. I'm surprised that GQ has not jumped on this one.???

In Bloom
Gucci is doing it... Prada of course. Let's just say it takes a man who is comfortable with his masculinity to stop and smell the roses. I am late on blogging about the floral craze in menswear. I love the print on print look that Gucci has premiered this past winter for the SS'14. Don't feel awkward, you're a man and very much so. I have found similar prints at Urban Outfitters and Zara. It started this past fall with brownish, darker maroons and darker colors, and it the trend found it's way to Spring and Summer. Brighter colors dominate with eye-catching reds, pinks, and green. Tropical flowers to the red roses. If you are uncomfortable with the print on print, wear one piece that catches the eye, like a tie or hat. Let the print do the talking with a floral shirt. I like this trend it's refreshing and bring color to the sometimes dull colorless menswear.
